Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Dante Devitt (ranked 4428 p4p, 3819 weight class) and Brandon Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dante Devitt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brandon Diaz !
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Paul Gruel and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Devitt.
Devitt takes a body punch but keeps moving.
No joy there for Diaz , who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Devitt misses with a combination
and Diaz counters with a nice uppercut.

Devitt dives in and scores a takedown into Diaz 's guard.
Devitt slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Diaz is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Devitt is controlling him.
Devitt postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Devitt trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Devitt really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Devitt is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Diaz wants to stand up but Devitt is controlling him.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Brandon Diaz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Diaz throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Devitt counters with a takedown into side control.
Devitt remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Diaz is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Devitt has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Diaz pushes Devitt away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Devitt gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Devitt is looking to take a break and control but Diaz is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Devitt is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Diaz will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Diaz lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Devitt backs up against the cage.

Diaz stalks Devitt and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Devitt's face. Devitt staggers backwards, shaken.

Diaz fails to land with a series of punches.
Devitt avoids a punch combination nicely.
Brandon Diaz is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

No joy there for Diaz , who threw a few shots but didn't land.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Devitt feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Diaz cracks Devitt with an open hand slap.
Diaz thuds his right hand into Devitt's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Devitt stands up over Diaz , holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Diaz has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Devitt has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Diaz wants to break the clinch but can't.

Devitt has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Diaz regains guard immediately.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Diaz cracks Devitt with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Brandon Diaz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Devitt gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Diaz pushes Devitt off and gets back to his feet.

Devitt drops down looking for a counter takedown but Diaz sprawls and moves away.
Diaz throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Diaz throws a nice looking combination but Devitt bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Devitt shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Diaz 's guard.

Diaz is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Devitt rather than just go for the knockout.
Devitt has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Brandon Diaz seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Diaz will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
