Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between luiz Alborghetti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thiago Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Silva gets a takedown into half guard.
Alborghetti is trying to control but can't.
Alborghetti is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Silva is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Alborghetti is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

Silva stands up from half guard.

Silva moves into the clinch successfully.
Alborghetti goes for a takedown in the clinch but Silva prevents it.
Alborghetti wants a takedown.

Silva manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Alborghetti drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Silva gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Silva's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Alborghetti is trying to drag Silva to the mat but Silva just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Silva has picked Alborghetti up - he's going for a ride! Silva dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Alborghetti has a hand on Silva's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Silva takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Silva is looking for the choke from the back position but Alborghetti is controlling his hands well.

Silva slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Alborghetti breaks Silva's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Alborghetti drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Silva manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Alborghetti has Silva in his guard.

Alborghetti is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Alborghetti is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Alborghetti had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Silva is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Alborghetti Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Silva's back instead.
Silva rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Silva manages to escape and get back to his feet!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Silva will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Silva stuffs the takedown attempt from Alborghetti. Alborghetti gets slowly back to his feet.
Alborghetti misses with a takedown attempt - Silva sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Alborghetti drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Silva gets the underhooks and prevents it.

The referee calls for Silva to work.

Silva pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Alborghetti has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Silva gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Silva is pressed up against the cage. Alborghetti has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Silva down to the mat. Silva avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Alborghetti moves in looking to clinch but Silva pushes him off.
Silva lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

Alborghetti throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Silva's waist but Silva gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Alborghetti off to one side.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Silva looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Thiago Silva is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Alborghetti looks to clinch

and Silva moves into the clinch.
Silva works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Alborghetti tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Silva smiles and moves away.
Alborghetti stuffs the takedown.
Alborghetti fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Silva pulls guard effortlessly.

Silva has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Alborghetti can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Alborghetti drops back, looking for a kneebar! Silva looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Silva looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Silva!
Alborghetti is looking to regain half guard here but Silva keeps moving and retains side control.

Silva decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Silva has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Alborghetti is trying to keep an underhook but Silva manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Silva in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Alborghetti tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Silva!
