The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A bone on bone clash there as Karelin blocks the leg kick.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Monson lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Karelin has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Karelin and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Karelin throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Monson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Karelin paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Karelin misses with a straight left.
Monson throws a head kick that misses.
Peter Monson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

It looks like Karpo Karelin has been cut.

Karelin looks up at the clock and then as Monson takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Karelin smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.

Monson doesn't manage to clinch there - Karelin circles away.
The fight stays on the outside here - Monson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Karelin feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Monson sprawling to the canvas! Monson rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Karelin finish him?!


Monson is rocked!


That has opened up Peter Monson's cut even more.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Karelin lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Monson falls backwards - clearly groggy! Karelin dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Karpo Karelin!
