Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Shawn Porter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Scott Voss!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Alexandre Firmino and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Voss shoots in but Porter avoids the takedown attempt easily.
As Voss tries to get set, Porter tries to push him back and clinch up but Voss manages to avoid the attempt.
Voss throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Voss looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Porter avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Porter is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Voss's half guard.
Porter controlling the pace.
Porter tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Porter content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Voss really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Porter. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Porter tries to pass the half guard into mount. Voss knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Porter controlling the pace.
Porter not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Voss has hold of Porter's hands but Porter slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Ground and pound from Porter.
Voss wants to control but Porter is keeping busy.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Porter performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Voss punching from the bottom.
Voss has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Porter is working away from the top position though.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Porter wants to work for an arm triangle but Voss is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Voss is trying to maintain the position but Porter is very close to passing his half guard.
Voss might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Porter haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Porter looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Porter passes the guard and advances to mount!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Porter with a couple of short strikes.
Porter landing punches.
Porter controlling from the full mount.
Voss is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
The referee warns Voss that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Shawn Porter dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Porter will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Voss is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.

Porter has closed the distance and engaged Voss in a clinch.
Voss wants to get back to striking at distance but Porter won't allow it.
Voss should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Voss wants to break the clinch but can't.
Voss tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Porter smiles and moves away.
Nice takedown defense from Porter. No joy for Voss on that attempt.
Porter is looking to counter punch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Voss is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Porter fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Shawn Porter is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Porter closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Porter wants to stand but Voss has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Porter frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Porter pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Porter with the ground and pound from mount.
Porter takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Porter with shots to the head and body - Voss looks very uncomfortable down there.
Porter is landing with some decent strikes but Voss is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Voss tries to reverse the position but Porter maintains control.

Porter landing strikes from the mount and Voss is in trouble!

Voss defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Porter.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Porter content just to control the position here.

Porter is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Voss has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Porter lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Voss hang on?
Voss is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Shawn Porter overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Porter sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Porter scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Voss?
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Porter lands a heavy elbow.

Voss is rocked!
Porter drops a big elbow. That's hurt Voss! More shots from Porter and the ref steps in! The fight is over!
