PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Emmerson Mile (ranked 1530 p4p, 2090 weight class) and Froma Lan (ranked 181 p4p, 250 weight class). Lan is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Men At work - Down under. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mile tries to land a body kick

and Lan counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Mile!

Lan tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Lan has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Mile dodges the ground and pound from Lan.
Lan is putting a hurting on Mile here, landing some big shots from side control.
Mile is trying to control Lan's posture but Lan avoids it.

Lan tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Mile avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Lan.

Lan thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Lan landing a few strikes.

An elbow from Lan crashes against the mat.
Mile prevents Lan from moving into mount.
Mile is looking to reverse the position.
Lan working the head and body with strikes.
Mile takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Lan is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Mile looks calm but he's in trouble here. Lan gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Mile is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Lan lets go of the hold and Mile can pop his arm back in it's socket.
