Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bas Rutten (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Idris Omar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Omar comes into a darkened arena with his song building. adu-kein scherz kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Bas Rutten had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 171.0lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Idris Omar has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Wesley Smith and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Omar moves out of range of the strikes.
Omar throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Omar misses with a few strikes there.

Rutten lunges at Omar with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Omar's hand.
Rutten gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Omar keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Rutten's efforts to push away.

Omar uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Rutten.

and Omar counters with a three punch combo that has Rutten backing up. Rutten nods at Omar to acknowledge the strikes.

Rutten sizes up Omar with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Rutten throws a body punch but Omar moves out of range.
Omar ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Rutten closes the distance but Omar moves to the side
and Omar counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Omar tries to pass to full mount but Rutten defends it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Omar is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Bas Rutten will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Rutten catches Omar with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
The fight stays on the outside here - Rutten looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

and Omar counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

and Omar counters with a nice low kick that buckles Rutten's knee momentarily.

Omar throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

and Rutten counters with a series of strikes. Omar will be more careful next time no doubt.

Omar stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rutten swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Rutten knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Omar on the ground.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Omar changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rutten looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Omar is going olschool here, as he tries to force Rutten to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Rutten shrugs it off.
Poor strikes thrown by Omar there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Omar lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Rutten tries to lock up and control but Omar gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Idris Omar showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Idris Omar comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Omar has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
