Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Peter Bowditch (ranked 3098 p4p, 3518 weight class) and Brandon Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Peter Bowditch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brandon Diaz !
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Percy O'Donnell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bowditch scores with a takedown into Diaz 's guard.
Diaz is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Bowditch working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Bowditch drops back looking for a leg! Diaz is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Diaz manages to kick Bowditch off! Bowditch jumps back into Diaz 's guard.
Diaz can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Bowditch controls the pace.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bowditch is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Diaz is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Bowditch is controlling him.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Diaz swinging wildly here.
Diaz works Bowditch's body with a nice hook.
A chopping leg kick lands by Bowditch.
Bowditch misses with the combination.

Diaz scores with a hook to the body. Bowditch takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Diaz will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
It looked like Bowditch was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Diaz throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Bowditch falls off balance throwing a combination
and Diaz counters with a left and a right that stings Bowditch.

Bowditch changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Diaz looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Diaz pushes Bowditch away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Bowditch gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Diaz is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
You can see the frustration on Diaz 's face as Bowditch controls the position.

Bowditch has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Diaz gets caught napping as Bowditch dives in and scores a takedown. Diaz manages to retain guard.
Diaz wants to stand and escape but Bowditch is having none of it.
Bowditch slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Bowditch trying to control but Diaz is working from the bottom.
Bowditch won't allow Diaz to get back to his feet.
Bowditch has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.

Diaz is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Bowditch presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Diaz has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Bowditch's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
A combination from Diaz does no damage.
Bowditch seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Diaz throws a series of punches but Bowditch moves out of range.
Diaz lands with a right hand.
Nice shot lands for Diaz .
Diaz misses with a two punch combination.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Bowditch moves into the clinch.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Brandon Diaz dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Diaz lands a right hook to the body.

Bowditch has taken the fight to the clinch.
Diaz is trying to break free.
Diaz is trying to break the clinch but Bowditch is controlling him.

Bowditch gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Bowditch tries to pass the half guard into mount. Diaz knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Bowditch is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Diaz is not content to let Bowditch control the position.

Bowditch will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Diaz fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Diaz scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Peter Bowditch is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Bowditch's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Bowditch really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Bowditch closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Bowditch breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Diaz misses with a series of wild punches.
Bowditch appears to be looking for a big counter.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Bowditch rushes Diaz and presses him up against the cage.

Bowditch has hold of one of Diaz 's legs. Diaz is fighting the takedown attempt but Bowditch gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Diaz manages to escape and get back to his feet.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Diaz gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Diaz wriggles free and stands up.

Bowditch clinches.
A knee to the head by Bowditch.

Bowditch turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Bowditch manages to end up in side control.

Diaz sneaks out the side door and pushes Bowditch away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Bowditch forces Diaz back against the cage and clinches.

Bowditch pulls guard.
Bowditch wants to sweep here but Diaz controlling him for the moment.
Bowditch is looking to stand back up but Diaz counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Bowditch.

Diaz decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Bowditch's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Diaz connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Bowditch scrambles back to his feet.
Bowditch takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Diaz scores with a hook to the body. Bowditch takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Bowditch takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Diaz lands with an overhand left.
Bowditch takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Bowditch walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Diaz looks to land a combination but Bowditch avoids it well.
Bowditch takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Brandon Diaz is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Diaz lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bowditch circles away quickly and effectively.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Bowditch takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Bowditch is rocked!
Bowditch seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Diaz shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Bowditch is backing up but Diaz catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Bowditch covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Diaz Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Brandon Diaz !
