The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson doesn't manage to clinch there - Carter circles away.
Johnson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Carter avoids it really well and circles away.
As Johnson looks to move away, Carter throws a big counter combo but Johnson just gets out of the way.
Carter misses with a low kick.
Johnson tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Carter defends well and Johnson ends up having to push Carter into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Carter shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Johnson's guard.
Carter slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Johnson is trying to hold Carter in close to prevent damage but Carter has managed to pass into half guard.
Johnson has hold of Carter's hands but Carter slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Carter is working for a submission of some sort.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Carter seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Johnson is trying to stand up here but Carter is controlling him well.

Carter seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Johnson is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
