Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Destin Craven (ranked 818 p4p, 610 weight class) and Lito Alcala (ranked 57 p4p, 46 weight class). Alcala has chosen MORTAL KOMBAT as his entrance music. Lito Alcala has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Destin Craven's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 17 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Destin Craven!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 41 - 22 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Lito Alcala!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Wagner Zegers and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alcala displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Craven cracks a nice hook into Alcala's ribs.
Craven uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Alcala.
A low kick from Alcala is predictable there

and Craven counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Alcala wants to control the position but Craven says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
We've been hearing that Craven has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Craven works his foot free and advances to mount.
Craven can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Alcala is looking to escape.

Craven swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Alcala is now in Craven's guard. A big mistake from Craven there, giving up the dominant position!

Alcala must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Craven is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Craven's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

Craven is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Alcala is defending well though. Craven let's go of the attempt for now.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That was a close round but I would say that Destin Craven will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Alcala pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Craven avoids a low kick by using good footwork.

Craven closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Alcala quickly recovers to half guard.

Craven is looking for a kimura but Alcala is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Craven to get the leverage.

Craven isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Alcala stacks Craven on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Alcala!

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Craven throws a series of punches but Alcala moves out of range.
Alcala throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Craven throws a sloppy head kick and Alcala moves out of range easily.
Craven looks for a takedown but Alcala sprawls well.
Alcala lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Alcala misses the jab.
Craven feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Alcalas jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Alcala moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Craven throws a sloppy head kick and Alcala moves out of range easily.
Craven throws a big shot that misses.
Craven on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Craven throws a right and a left that both miss.
Alcala tries to land a front kick but Craven steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Craven bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Alcala's head.

A nice combination there by Alcala.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Alcala. Craven shrugs it off though.
Alcala looks to land a left hand but Craven moved out of range nicely.
Alcala throws a low kick but it's checked well by Craven.
Alcala misses with an uppercut. Craven saw that one coming.
Craven connects with a solid leg kick.
A chopping leg kick lands by Alcala.
Craven fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Craven lands with a nice combination. Alcala backs away looking to recover.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Alcala bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Craven's head backwards.
Alcala buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Craven throws a right and a left that Alcala avoids nicely.
Lito Alcala has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Lito Alcala is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Nice uppercut lands for Craven. That snapped Alcala's head back.
Craven slips under a jab from Alcala.
Craven keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

Craven feints and as Alcala raises his hands in defense, Craven changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Craven missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Craven working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Alcala's head.
Alcala controls Craven momentarily but Craven frees himself.
Craven trying to control the position from guard on top but Alcala is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Craven stands up over Alcala, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Craven stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Alcala swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Alcala has momentary wrist control but Craven slips an elbow through the middle.

Alcala keeping moving, preventing Craven from controlling successfully.
Craven throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Alcala works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Craven in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Craven passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Destin Craven is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Alcala is not content to let Craven control the position.
Craven advances to full mount.
Craven lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Craven goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Alcala turns into him and now he's in Craven's guard.
Craven is trying to keep Alcala in close.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Destin Craven.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Craven, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Destin Craven tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
Lito Alcala spoke after the fight, saying 'Free Hong Kong And Screw China'.
