Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Keith Hanson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, John Sheppard!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, David Hoff and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hanson rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
enabling Sheppard to counter with a crisp jab.
Hanson feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Sheppards jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Sheppard has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Hanson.
Hanson scores with the left hand. Sheppard knows he should have avoided that one.
Sheppard lands a lovely overhand right.
It looks like Keith Hanson has been cut.
Hanson throws a sloppy head kick and Sheppard moves out of range easily.
Keith Hanson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hanson misses with a series of wild punches.
Sheppard shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Sheppard has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Hanson throws a right and a left that both miss.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hanson dodges the punch combination from Sheppard.
A head kick misses from Hanson.
Sheppard lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Hanson throws a wild body kick that Sheppard sees coming a mile off.
Sheppard takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Sheppard is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Hanson with a body shot.
Hanson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Hanson buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Sheppard jabs Hanson right on the nose. Hanson blinks but takes it well.
Hanson throws a head kick that misses.
Hanson connects with a jab.
Sheppard changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Sheppard dips to his left and cracks Hanson with an uppercut!
Hanson throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Sheppard counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Sheppard scores with a jab.
Hanson is rocked!
Sheppard lands a slapping body shot.
Oh Hanson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Hanson looks to score with a jab to the body but Sheppard is just out of range.
Sheppard scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Hanson is breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sheppard drops Hanson with a big left hand! Hanson is injured, injured bad! Sheppard jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Sheppard!
A relieved looking John Sheppard thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
