Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dwight Shrute (ranked 4302 p4p, 3083 weight class) and Terry Wright (ranked 0 p4p, 450 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shrute is looking to clinch.

Shrute is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Wright's half guard.
Wright wants to control but Shrute is keeping busy.
Wright is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Wright really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Shrute. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Wright wants to get back to full guard but Shrute has mounted him!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Shrute with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Wright tries to hold on but Shrute postures up.
Shrute trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Wright sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Shrute is trying to control. Wright wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Shrute is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Wright is just riding it out for now. Shrute eventually gives up the hold.
Wright is trying to maintain the position but Shrute is very close to passing his half guard.
Shrute missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

Wright tries to roll over but Shrute keeps him under control.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Wright is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Shrute pulls his head out easily.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Shrute connects with a nice short shot to Wright's temple.
Shrute seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Wright does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Shrute cracks Wright with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shrute tries to control but Wright wriggling away.
Wright is trying to escape the mount.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Shrute can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Wright is looking to escape.

Shrute shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Wright is trying to defend but Shrute finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Wright pushes Shrute off looking to stand but Shrute dives back in and keeps control.

Shrute wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Wright, who protects the arm well.
Wright tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Shrute easily slips into full mount!

Wright is bucking up trying to escape but Shrute cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Wright is looking to improve his position but Shrute isn't that keen on the idea.

Wright wants to control but Shrute is having none of it.
Shrute lands with some strikes.
Wright tries to reverse the position but Shrute maintains control.

Shrute goes for an armbar but Wright turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Wright.

Shrute had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Wright defends it easily.
Shrute is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Wright can do to turn this around?

Wright wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Shrute's closed guard. He's half up but Shrute has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Shrute pivots and extends the arm, Wright falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Shrute! Well done that man!
