Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Archie Oliveira (ranked 1820 p4p, 1671 weight class) and Eric Jacquin (ranked 248 p4p, 227 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Archie Oliveira!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Eric Jacquin!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, James Atkins and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oliveira dives in for a single leg takedown but Jacquin sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Jacquin throws out a counter right but Oliveira avoids it with no problem.

Oliveira is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Jacquin can't fight it off and eventually Oliveira manages to take the fight to the floor. Jacquin looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Oliveira advances position into side control!

Oliveira tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Oliveira has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Oliveira will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Jacquin is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Oliveira is pushing down on Jacquin's leg trying to pass to half guard. Jacquin is fighting to maintain full guard but Oliveira has managed to sneak the leg through.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Oliveira is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Jacquin reverses the position - he's now on top in Oliveira's guard.

That's time! Oliveira's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Oliveira closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Oliveira lands in his opponent's guard.

Oliveira wants to advance to full mount but Jacquin doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

Jacquin had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Oliveira defends it easily.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Oliveira's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Oliveira is working Jacquin over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Oliveira keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Jacquin's head.
Jacquin wants to sweep here but Oliveira controlling him for the moment.

Oliveira wants to free his trapped foot but Jacquin is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Oliveira is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jacquin is just riding it out for now. Oliveira eventually gives up the hold.

Oliveira stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Jacquin to get to his feet.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
You can see the frustration on Jacquin's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Jacquin is looking to regain half guard here but Oliveira keeps moving and retains side control.
Jacquin stops Oliveira from passing to mount.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Oliveira shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jacquin as he avoids it easily.
Jacquin connects with a single shot there.
Jacquin stuffs the takedown.
Oliveira uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jacquin.
Oliveira tries for a takedown but Jacquin sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Archie Oliveira. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Horrible takedown attempt by Oliveira or perhaps it was just good defense by Jacquin, which made it look bad.
Jacquin feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Oliveiras jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Jacquin controls Oliveira momentarily but Oliveira frees himself.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Oliveira is nestled in close to Jacquin, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Jacquin tries to roll over but Oliveira keeps him under control.
Archie Oliveira overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Oliveira drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Oliveira jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Oliveira swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Jacquin is now in Oliveira's guard. A big mistake from Oliveira there, giving up the dominant position!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jacquin advances position into side control!

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Eric Jacquin.
I think Jacquin has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
