Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 12 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dezmond Drake!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Aubrey Grant!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Percy O'Donnell and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Drake tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Grant was well out of range. Poor timing from Drake.
Drake has been working on his boxing with his coaches at ubergym in the buildup to the fight.
Grant misses with a lunging right hand
and Drake counters with a nice uppercut.
A shot to the body from Drake misses
and Grant counters with a nice leg kick.
Grant is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Grant lands a head shot.
Grant throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Grant misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Drake.
Grant throws an ugly left hook that misses
letting Drake counter with a right hand.
Drake ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Grant moves away.
Drake throws a hook but Grant avoids it easily.
A punch combination from Grant misses.
Grant attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Drake swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Grant misses the jab.
Grant throws out a powerful jab.
Grant throws a right hand that misses
and Drake counters with a series of strikes that really hurt Grant! The ref looks into his eyes and sees nobody home - he's called the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dezmond Drake!
After winning the bout, Dezmond Drake thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
