Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 25 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Thor Hammer!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Lou da Vinci and Jorge Garcia.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hammer jabs at Rick's body.
Hammer moves out of range of the strikes.
Hammer feints the counter takedown.
Hammer lands a jab.

Rick shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Hammer tries to get to full guard but Rick has control of the leg.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hammer is still trying to improve position.
Rick is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Rick seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hammer does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Rick is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Hammer sees it coming and defends easily.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Rick throws a strike but Hammer rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Hammer tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Hammer fails to take his opponent's back.
Rick is looking to get to half guard.
Hammer manages to capitalize on a mistake by Rick to take his back!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Rick is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Hammer is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Hammer has Rick pulled in close to control his posture.

Let's hope that Hammer has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Rick with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Hammer is not content to let Rick control the position.
Hammer manages to work his way to half guard, despite Rick's best efforts.

Rick is looking for a kimura but Hammer is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Rick to get the leverage.

Rick stalling away here and it's allowed Hammer to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Hammer has control of Rick's left arm, preventing Rick from doing any damage.

Hammer seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Rick's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Rick's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Rick misses with an uppercut.
Hammer tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Rick closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Hammer's guard.

Rick postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Hammer is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Rick, into his guard.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Rick, as that shot connected.
Slick Rick seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hammer moves into range and clinches up with Rick.

Hammer keeps control of Rick as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Rick has taken the fight to the clinch.

Rick wants the takedown. Hammer is fighting it off but Rick persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Hammer's guard against the cage.
