PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sasa Gusi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Young Tupac (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gusi's entrance music is Marsirala Kralja Petra Garda. A fine choice. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sasa Gusi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Young Tupac!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Fedor Mirinova and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gusi throws a series of punches but Tupac avoids them all with ease.
Gusi throws a hook but Tupac avoids it easily.

Tupac feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Tupac drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Tupac jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Gusi got a little sloppy there for a moment and Tupac has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gusi has managed to get both his arms back between Tupac's legs - danger averted.

A close round but Young Tupac will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Gusi escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Tupac gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Gusi had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Tupac is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Gusi Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Tupac's back instead.

Tupac tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tupac is trying desperately to improve position.
Tupac manages to regain half guard. Good work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tupac has a hand on Gusi's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Gusi takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Tupac tries to roll over but Gusi keeps him under control.

Tupac makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Tupac.

Tupac looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Gusi has picked Tupac up and slammed him! Tupac can't keep hold of the triangle and Gusi manages to pass to side control!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Tupac is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Gusi is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Tupac has given up his back here. Will Gusi look for the submission or keep pounding away?
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
I really don't envy Tupac right now.

That was a close second round but I would say that Sasa Gusi will probably get the nod.

Tupac tries to improve his position but Gusi has taken his back! Gusi has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Tupac tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Gusi pushes Tupac away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
