Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Abee Shake (ranked 4305 p4p, 4518 weight class) and Umaru Usman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Umaru Usman is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Abee Shake!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Umaru Usman!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shake bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Usman is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Shake trying to control the position but Usman is working away.
Usman tries to bench press Shake off him but Shake keeps the position.
Shake wants to control but Usman is keeping him busy.

Shake stands up.
Usman with a poor takedown
and Shake counters with a left to the body.

Shake rushes Usman and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Usman tries for a takedown but Shake manages to get underhooks.

Shake has Usman pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Shake pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Usman tumbling to the mat - Shake dives into Usman's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Usman has his foot on Shake's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Shake works his way back into a safe position though.

Usman is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Shake passes Usman's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Shake takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Usman tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Shake has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Usman gets back to half guard.

Usman is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Shake pulls his head out easily.
Usman makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Usman.
Shake wants to get up but he can't break Usman's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Usman really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Shake. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Usman had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Shake defends it easily.
Usman can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Shake controls the pace.

Usman has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Shake is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Usman.
Usman is looking for a sweep.
Shake is chipping away with strikes.
Usman manages to work his way to half guard, despite Shake's best efforts.

Usman misses with a takedown attempt - Shake sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Shake works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Usman is trying to pull guard but Shake turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Abee Shake has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Umaru Usman.
Usman drops down looking for an ankle pick but Shake pulls his leg out and moves away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Usman shoots for a takedown but Shake saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Usman tries to keep at a distance but Shake has taken the fight into the clinch.

Shake jumps guard and drags Usman to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Usman postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Shake is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Usman, into his guard.

Shake with a flurry of punches that miss.
Shake seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Usman drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Shake gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Abee Shake has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Umaru Usman.

Shake wants the takedown. Usman is fighting it off but Shake persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Usman's guard against the cage.

Shake decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Usman fails with a takedown attempt.
Shake quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
Usman shoots in looking for a takedown. Shake tries to sprawl out of it but Usman keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Shake manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
