The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pierre misses with a wild body shot.
Pierre just misses with a punch to the body.
Jacobs doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Jacobs throws a series of punches but Pierre avoids them all with ease.
Jacobs lands a jab-cross combination.
Pierre lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jacobs circles away quickly and effectively.
Jamychal Jacobs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A left and a right from Jacobs both land. Nice combination.
Pierre on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Pierre throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Jacobs's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Jacobs duly obliges.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jacobs lands with a kick to the ribs.
Pierre looks to score with a jab to the body but Jacobs is just out of range.
Jacobs is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Jacobs misses with a wild combination.
Pierre misses with a body shot.
A looping hook to the body misses from Pierre. Jacobs does a little dance to reset his feet.
Pierre throws a right hand that Jacobs ducks under and follows up with a left that Jacobs also avoids with ease.

Jacobs looks to land a combination but Pierre avoids it well.
Jacobs will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Pierre tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Pierre has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Pierre tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Pierre is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Jacobs has escaped the position, nice work there.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jacobs can do anything to dispel that myth.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jacobs bucks up and tries to throw Pierre off but instead Pierre has got his back!

Jacobs is trying to stand back up.

Pierre is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Jacobs has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Pierre has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Jacobs taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Pierre doesn't care though - he's delighted!
