Coming up we have a welterweight kickboxing rules bout between Gaizka Elizondo (ranked 3159 p4p, 17659 weight class) and Joseph Telushikin (ranked 412 p4p, 645 weight class). Elizondo comes into the arena with Peewee Longway & Money Man - Ooowwweee blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 32 - 18 - 2, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gaizka Elizondo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joseph Telushikin!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Alexandre Firmino and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Telushikin misses with a low kick.
Telushikin's coach down at The Scrap Squad was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Telushikin's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Telushikin avoids the body shot from Elizondo.
Elizondo steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Telushikin.
Elizondo scores with a head kick. Telushikin tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Telushikin misses with a combination
and Elizondo counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Telushikin misses the shot to the body.
Telushikin throws a lazy body kick
and Elizondo counters with a straight right hand.
A low kick lands for Elizondo.
Elizondo throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Telushikin walks into a left hand.
Elizondo misses the jab.
Telushikin tries to clinch up.
Telushikin is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

No joy there for Telushikin, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Elizondo clinches up with Telushikin and pushes him back against the ropes.

Elizondo lands a nice uppercut.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Elizondo looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Telushikin lands a hook that snaps the head of Elizondo backwards.

Elizondo breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Elizondo lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Telushikin fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Elizondo, pushing him back against the ropes.
Elizondo lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the ropes.
Telushikin throws a head punch that misses.
Telushikin misses with the head strike.

Elizondo escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Elizondo turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Elizondo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Telushikin throws a sloppy head kick and Elizondo moves out of range easily.
Telushikin throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Elizondo lands a jab to the head.
Telushikin takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Gaizka Elizondo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Elizondo thumps Telushikin with a low kick.
The fight stays on the outside here - Telushikin looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Telushikin tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Telushikin on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Telushikin uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Elizondo.
As Elizondo backs off Telushikin throws a huge counter combo but Elizondo manages to avoid it all.

Nice straight punches there by Elizondo. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Elizondo.

Telushikin moves into the clinch.

Elizondo manages to break the clinch.
Elizondo checks a leg kick.
Gaizka Elizondo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Elizondo keeps the fight on the outside.
Telushikin tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Telushikin misses with a series of wild punches.
Elizondo scores with a leg kick.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Gaizka Elizondo dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Elizondo throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Telushikin on the side of the head.
Elizondo looks to throw the jab but Telushikin is out of range.

Telushikin looks to land a combination but Elizondo avoids it well.
Elizondo swats away the attempt to clinch by Telushikin.
Elizondo throws a looping overhand right but Telushikin ducks down to avoid it.
Gaizka Elizondo is winning the standup battle so far.

Telushikin moves into range and clinches up with Elizondo.
Telushikin on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Telushikin tries to close the distance and clinch but Elizondo swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Elizondo throws a big counter combination but Telushikin scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Elizondo lands a hook that snaps the head of Telushikin backwards.
Telushikin misses with a short punch on the inside.

Elizondo pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Telushikin is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Elizondo connects with a quick right hand that sends Telushikin tumbling backwards onto the canvas! As his head bounces into the ropes, it doesn't look good for him beating the count! 3,4,5,6,7 and he's up! No, he's back down again! This one is all over - the referee has called off the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:11 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Gaizka Elizondo!
During a confident post fight interview, Gaizka Elizondo thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
