The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pixley takes one on the button.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Pixley has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Badou has closed the distance and engaged Pixley in a clinch.
Badou has Pixley pushed against the cage.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Badou obliges.
Badou lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Badou digs a right hand into Pixley's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Pixley's gas tank.
Pixley looks winded!
Badou lands with a light punch inside.

Badou gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Badou working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Pixley is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Badou lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Pixley! More strikes land and this one is all over! Badou jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!
