Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Szopa scores with the left hand. Erenberg knows he should have avoided that one.
Szopa jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Erenberg swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

and Erenberg counters with a nice body shot.
Szopa connects with a looping right hand.
Erenberg gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Erenberg looks to score with a jab to the body but Szopa is just out of range.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Erenberg tries to counter with a takedown but Szopa is quick to defend against it.

Erenberg closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Szopa's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Szopa is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Erenberg has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Erenberg is looking to advance position but Szopa won't allow it.

Szopa is looking to improve his position but Erenberg isn't that keen on the idea.

Erenberg wants to control the pace but Szopa is squirming around nicely.
Szopa is trying to escape the mount.
Erenberg will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Erenberg can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Szopa is looking to escape.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Erenberg lands a big shot there that rocks Szopa but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Szopa felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
