Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Akseli Tommila!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Gwen Towbar and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holm gets the takedown into side control.
Tommila regains half guard, as Holm was trying to land strikes.
Holm should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Holm seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Tommila does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Holm is looking for a kimura here.
Holm wants to pass to mount but Tommila is defending the position.
Tommila tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Holm manages to move to mount!

Holm looking to sit in guard and control but Tommila gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Tommila will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Holm is on top in guard.
Holm gets to his feet. Tommila looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Tommila pushes Holm off and gets back to his feet.

and Holm counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Tommila's guard now.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Holm has eaten all the pies!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Holm closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Tommila tries to improve position but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Holm cracks Tommila with a big elbow.
Holm tries to advance to mount but Tommila instead regains half guard.
Holm is keen to just control but Tommila is a slippery customer.
Holm might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Tommila kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Holm decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Tommila throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Holm counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Tommila!
Holm is trying to take his opponent's back.
Tommila is trying desperately to improve position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Holm moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Tommila has worked his arm free - good work by Tommila!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Holm stands up and beckons Tommila to his feet.

and Holm counters with a single leg into guard. Tommila didn't expect that.

Holm is pressing down on Tommila's thigh, looking to free his foot. Tommila is holding on for now.

Holm prevents Tommila from standing back up.
Holm moves nicely into side control.
Tommila dodges the ground and pound from Holm.
Tommila throws Holm to one side and escapes!
Excellent takedown into side control there by Holm.

Holm tries to score a body lock takedown but Tommila shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Tommila gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Holm.
Holm wants to break free but Tommila has control.
Tommila wants to get back to striking at distance but Holm won't allow it.
Holm has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Tommila avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Akseli Tommila has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nikon Holm.
Holm lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Holm tries for a takedown but Tommila manages to get underhooks.

You get the feeling that Tommila really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Holm can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Tommila is looking to escape.

Holm loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Tommila scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Holm land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Holm stands and salutes the crowd.
