Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Paavo Talvela (ranked 426 p4p, 538 weight class) and Walad Anubis (ranked 54 p4p, 73 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Talvela might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to For Heavy Metal we will die!. The crowd seem to be enjoying Anubis's choice of entrance music: Hideaway. Paavo Talvela could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Walad Anubis's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anubis throws a shot from downtown. Talvela moves away and avoids it.
Anubis chopping away at his opponent's legs.
A decent looking cross lands there for Anubis.
Talvela keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Anubis.
Anubis throws a jab when Talvela was well out of range.
A nice leg kick from Anubis, right into the meat of the thigh.
Talvela scores with a jab to the head.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Talvela shoots in and drives through. Anubis sprawls well.
A nice inside leg kick there by Anubis. That's going to slow Talvela down.
A solid leg kick lands there for Anubis.
Talvela uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Anubis.
Talvela cracks Anubis with an open hand slap.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Talvela throws a series of punches but Anubis avoids them all with ease.

Talvela lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Anubis backs up against the cage.
Anubis throws a front kick that sends Talvela stumbling back into the cage.

Anubis fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Talvela is out of range.
Anubis throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Talvela displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Anubis throws out the jab.
Talvela is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Anubis.
Anubis appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Walad Anubis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Anubis throws a hook but Talvela blocks it.
Some bone on bone action there as Talvela checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Talvela tries to score a power double leg takedown but Anubis sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Talvela somewhat.
Talvela doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Talvela lands with a thumping leg kick.
Anubis looks for the body kick but Talvela saw that one coming.
Talvela has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Heavy Metal in the buildup to the fight.
A nice inside leg kick there by Anubis. That's going to slow Talvela down.
Talvela uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Anubis.
Talvela fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paavo Talvela. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Talvela clobbers Anubis with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Walad Anubis is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Anubis swings for the body but Talvela moves out of range.
Talvela slips under a jab.
Anubis keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Talvela.
Anubis throws a half hearted mid kick.
Anubis shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Talvela misses with a wild body shot.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Talvela dives in and scores a takedown into Anubis's guard.
Talvela throwing strikes from guard but Anubis blocks nicely.

Talvela drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Talvela jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Talvela throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Anubis works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Anubis pulls Talvela in to control the position.
Anubis is continuing to stall.

Talvela with a flurry of punches that miss.
Talvela has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Talvela is looking to work some ground and pound but Anubis has wrist control.
Talvela connects with a couple of short punches.

Talvela content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Anubis has locked up a guillotine! Anubis's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Talvela is holding on here and Anubis must be using up a lot of energy. Talvela has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Anubis gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
