Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Curtis Rome (ranked 367 p4p, 614 weight class) and Irong Kasamsun (ranked 58 p4p, 94 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 15 - 3, fighting out of Amsterdam, Curtis Rome!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Irong Kasamsun!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Percy O'Donnell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kasamsun defending well as Rome loads up on a big left hand.

Kasamsun closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Rome's guard.

Rome pushes Kasamsun off and gets back to his feet.
Rome shoots in for a takedown but Kasamsun shows good takedown defense.
Kasamsun scores with a sloppy right hand. Rome should have avoided that one.

Rome drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Rome jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kasamsun is on top in guard.

Kasamsun throws a strike but Rome rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Rome stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kasamsun swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Kasamsun is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Rome stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kasamsun swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Rome is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Rome is trying to work for a kimura but Kasamsun is defending well.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Curtis Rome will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Rome dives in and grabs Kasamsun's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kasamsun pushes down on Rome's head and hops out.

Kasamsun throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Curtis Rome overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

and Kasamsun cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Rome takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Rome looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Kasamsun shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Kasamsun was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Irong Kasamsun showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Rome closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kasamsun circles away.

Kasamsun fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Rome sprawls well initially but Kasamsun persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well, if Kasamsun is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kasamsun is working Rome over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Rome moves forwards but Kasamsun connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Rome shoots for a takedown but Kasamsun saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Kasamsun might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Kasamsun bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Kasamsun closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kasamsun lands in his opponent's guard.

Irong Kasamsun comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Kasamsun has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

After the fight, Irong Kasamsun was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
