Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dwight Shrute (ranked 2735 p4p, 24966 weight class) and Stan Young (ranked 0 p4p, 661 weight class). Shrute comes to the cage accompanied by Battlestart Galactica theme. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dwight Shrute!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Stan Young!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Illya Tyunina and Konstantin Menshow.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Young misses with a lunging right hand

and Shrute counters with a takedown into side control.

Shrute tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Shrute decides to stand up, so the ref orders Young to his feet.
Shrute ducks under a wild hook from Young.
Shrute changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Shrute staying out of range there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Shrute fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Young sprawls well initially but Shrute persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Shrute is breathing heavily.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Young is trying to control but Shrute manages to pass to mount!
Young tries to get back to half guard but can't.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Young's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Young wants to control but Shrute is having none of it.
Young prevents Shrute from taking his back.

Shrute quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Shrute but it's paid off an Young is forced to tap! Nice work by Shrute.

After the fight, Dwight Shrute was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
