Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chase Cole!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Japie Van Kloot!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Alan Glass and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cole has his takedown stuffed
and Van Kloot counters with a two punch combo.
Van Kloot is looking to slow Cole down with leg kicks.
Cole doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Van Kloot fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Van Kloot scores with a spinning back kick!
Cole tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Cole tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Van Kloot manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Van Kloot dives in and scores a takedown into Cole's guard.
Van Kloot really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cole. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Cole wants to stand but Van Kloot is controlling the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Van Kloot content to stall in guard here.

Van Kloot must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Van Kloot advances to half guard.
Cole regains full guard. Nicely done.
Cole looking for a sweep. Not yet Cole, not yet.
Van Kloot makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Cole wants to sweep but no luck.
Cole has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Van Kloot has passed into side control.

Van Kloot has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Cole looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Van Kloot wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cole keeps working.
Cole keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.

Van Kloot is taking a breather. Cole says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Cole manages to get to full guard.
Van Kloot showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Cole is on top in guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Cole wants to control from the top but Van Kloot keeps moving.
Van Kloot working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Cole.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Cole landing with the ground and pound.

Japie Van Kloot dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

and Cole counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Van Kloot has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Cole seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Van Kloot wants to get back to full guard but Cole has mounted him!
Cole wants to control the pace but Van Kloot is squirming around nicely.
Van Kloot is in all sorts of trouble here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Van Kloot tries to lock up and control but Cole gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Van Kloot can do anything to dispel that myth.

Van Kloot is wriggling around trying to escape.
Cole lands with some strikes.

Cole looking to control and managing it successfully.
You get the feeling that Van Kloot really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Cole wants to control the pace but Van Kloot is squirming around nicely.

Van Kloot is looking to control Cole's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Van Kloot avoid being mounted?
Cole content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Cole seems to be looking for submissions.
Van Kloot avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Cole.
Cole performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Van Kloot has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Cole is working away from the top position though.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Cole thows a huge punch but Van Kloot dodges it nicely.
Cole takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Cole throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Van Kloot lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Van Kloot rushes Cole and presses him up against the cage.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Cole jumps guard but Van Kloot stands there with Cole around his waist. Cole gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Cole jumps guard but Van Kloot turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Chase Cole dominated that second round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Cole throws a push kick but Van Kloot slaps the foot to one side.
Van Kloot is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

Van Kloot moves into the clinch.
Van Kloot gets underhooks to prevent Cole's takedown attempt.
The referee is keeping an eye on Van Kloot - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Cole is trying to break free.

Van Kloot pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Cole misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Van Kloot.
Van Kloot fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Cole avoids it really well and circles away.

Cole dives in and scores a takedown into Van Kloot's guard.

Cole fails with a takedown attempt.

Van Kloot dives in for a single leg takedown but Cole sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Cole shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Van Kloot napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Cole tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Cole working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Cole advances to full mount.

Van Kloot wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Cole.
Cole tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Van Kloot is looking to improve his position but Cole isn't that keen on the idea.
Cole sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Cole working for a guillotine from mount but Van Kloot is in no mood to give up.
Cole wants to control the pace but Van Kloot is squirming around nicely.

And that's the end of the fight!
Chase Cole showed his dominance in that final round.
