Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Don Higgins (ranked 4873 p4p, 5509 weight class) and Ralph Cifaretto (ranked 567 p4p, 591 weight class). Don Higgins has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Don Higgins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ralph Cifaretto!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Dillan Fox and Yves DeLean.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Higgins throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Cifaretto scores with a nice head shot.
Higgins walks into a stiff left hand from Cifaretto.
Cifaretto works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Higgins fails with the takedown.
Higgins doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Cifaretto counters with a three punch combo that has Higgins backing up. Higgins nods at Cifaretto to acknowledge the strikes.

Higgins looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Higgins wants to pass the guard but Cifaretto is defending well.
Cifaretto looks like he's trying to stand up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Higgins working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Cifaretto is looking to escape.
Cifaretto manages to get to full guard.
Cifaretto wants to get back to his feet but Higgins is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cifaretto keeping moving, preventing Higgins from controlling successfully.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Higgins engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Higgins throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Cifaretto's waist but Cifaretto gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Higgins off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Don Higgins. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Cifaretto tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Higgins was well out of range. Poor timing from Cifaretto.
Cifaretto scores with a jab.
Higgins throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Cifaretto lands a right hook to the body.
Cifaretto falls off balance throwing a combination
and Higgins counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Cifaretto cracks Higgins with a right hand to the side of the head.

It looks like Don Higgins has been cut.
Higgins takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Cifaretto connects with a crisp jab.
Higgins throws a body shot but no joy.
Higgins closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Cifaretto cracks a nice hook into Higgins's ribs.

Cifaretto misses with the combination.

Cifaretto cracks Higgins with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Cifaretto has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Higgins to stand back up!

Higgins is rocked!
Higgins gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Cifaretto points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Higgins wakes up just in time to hear Cifaretto thank his coaches in the post fight interview.
