Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Leandro Rodrigues and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sotiropoulos is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Cortez.
Cortez takes the fight into the clinch.
Cortez is working for takedown but Sotiropoulos is calmly controlling the position for now.
Sotiropoulos is trying to break the clinch but Cortez has him pressed against the cage.
Cortez drops down looking for an ankle pick but Sotiropoulos pulls his leg out and moves away.
Cortez tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sotiropoulos swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Cortez tries to clinch but Sotiropoulos is having none of it.
Sotiropoulos swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Sotiropoulos throws a series of punches but Cortez moves out of range.
Cortez doesn't manage to clinch there - Sotiropoulos circles away.
Sotiropoulos tries to keep at a distance but Cortez has taken the fight into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sotiropoulos pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Cortez is defended easily by Sotiropoulos.
George Sotiropoulos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Thiago Cortez.
Sotiropoulos misses with a hook.
Sotiropoulos leaves Cortez with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Cortez wants to clinch up but Sotiropoulos keeps it at a distance.
Cortez looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Cortez has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Sotiropoulos finds it's way round the side to connect with Cortez's head.
Sotiropoulos stuffs the takedown attempt from Cortez. Cortez gets slowly back to his feet.
Sotiropoulos loads up on a big right hand but Cortez slips the punch.
Thiago Cortez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cortez scores with a takedown into Sotiropoulos's guard.
Sotiropoulos looking for a sweep. Not yet Sotiropoulos, not yet.
Sotiropoulos manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Sotiropoulos scores with the left hand. Cortez knows he should have avoided that one.
Cortez looks gassed!
Cortez drops his hands momentarily and Sotiropoulos takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sotiropoulos lunges at Cortez with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Cortez's hand.
Sotiropoulos bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Cortez! He dives into his guard looking to finish!
Cortez is rocked!
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sotiropoulos loads up on a big left hand. Cortez felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Sotiropoulos looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Cortez can't hide his disappointment, as Sotiropoulos celebrates the victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). George Sotiropoulos!
