Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Draconis (ranked 2437 p4p, 3100 weight class) and Deebo Samuel (ranked 287 p4p, 358 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Deebo Samuel enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tommy Draconis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Deebo Samuel!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, William Peck and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Samuel fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Draconis manages to avoid it.
We've been hearing reports that Draconis has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Draconis closes the distance and pushes Samuel back into the cage.
Draconis goes for a takedown in the clinch but Samuel prevents it.
Good body shot from Samuel.
Samuel makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Samuel tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Draconis tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Samuel breaks the clinch.
Samuel looks to score with a jab to the body but Draconis is just out of range.

It looks like Tommy Draconis has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Samuel ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Draconis moves away.
Samuel has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Draconis is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Samuel looks to score with a jab to the body but Draconis is just out of range.
Draconis moves out of range as Samuel strikes.
Draconis half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Draconis shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

and Draconis counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Draconis.

and Samuel counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Samuel takes a swing at Draconis's ribcage but misses.

Draconis walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Draconis drops his hands momentarily and Samuel takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Draconis uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Samuel.
Samuel ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Draconis moves away.

Samuel cracks Draconis with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Samuel has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Draconis to stand back up!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Samuel lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Draconis at a distance.
Samuel just misses with a punch to the body.
Draconis blocks a jab.
Samuel jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

Tommy Draconis's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Samuel ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Draconis feinted with a counter takedown.

Samuel is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Jeez, Tommy Draconis's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
Draconis slips a jab from Samuel.
Draconis defending well as Samuel loads up on a big left hand.

Draconis closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Samuel to the mat! Samuel manages to get full guard.

Draconis is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Draconis thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Samuel wants to sweep here but Draconis controlling him for the moment.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Draconis seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Samuel can do anything to dispel that myth.
Samuel is trying to control the position from the bottom.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Deebo Samuel dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Tommy Draconis's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

No joy there for Samuel, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Samuel stuffs the takedown.
Samuel lands with an overhand left.
Samuel is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Draconis rather than just go for the knockout.

Samuel throws a big shot that misses.
Draconis shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Samuel pinned against the cage. Samuel gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Deebo Samuel took to the microphone after his victory and thanked his sponsors, Mythical Fighter for their support in the buildup to the fight.
In defeat, Tommy Draconis stepped up to the mic, saying 'This fight was really short notice, only a few days. My manager screwed the pooch here. It's no wonder I lost. It has to be someone else's fault! I'm the shit!'.
