Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Miller (ranked 4523 p4p, 5534 weight class) and Fred Howe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Howe has chosen New Order - Bizarre Love Triangle as his entrance music. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, John Miller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Fred Howe!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Daniel Blasius and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miller lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
A punch combination from Miller misses.

Miller closes the distance and pushes Howe back into the cage.
Miller wants to get back to striking at distance but Howe won't allow it.

Howe escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Howe shoots in for a takedown but Miller shows good takedown defense.
Howe tries to close the distance and clinch but Miller swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
It looked like Miller was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Miller gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Miller wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Miller wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Howe has him pressed against the cage.

Miller breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Howe has taken the fight to the clinch.
Miller wants to break the clinch but can't.
Howe is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Miller is keeping busy.

Howe's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Miller throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Miller scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Miller misses with a few strikes there.

Howe darts in and clinches Miller up against the cage.
Knees in the clinch landing for Howe.
Howe creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Miller's defenses.
A frustrated look appears on Miller's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Miller tries to circle away but Howe has him pinned against the cage.
Miller is trying to push Howe away but Howe has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Howe is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Miller is defending well.

Miller breaks from the clinch.
Miller cracks Howe with an open hand slap.
Miller dives in and grabs Howe's left leg, looking for a takedown. Howe pushes down on Miller's head and hops out.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Miller takes the fight into the clinch.

Howe jumps into guard, dragging Miller to the mat.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Miller throws an elbow that misses. Howe uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Miller's guard. Nice move by Howe!

Miller striking off his back but it's not causing Howe any problems.
Howe passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Howe staying calm.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Miller throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Howe has managed to clinch.

Howe pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Miller throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Howe's waist but Howe gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Miller off to one side.
Miller pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Howe clinches with his opponent.

Howe pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Miller has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Howe.
Miller swings for the body but Howe moves out of range.
Howe now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Howe stuffs the takedown attempt from Miller. Miller gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Miller. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Howe pushes Miller up against the cage in a clinch.
Howe tries to pull guard but Miller won't allow it.
Howe keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Miller's efforts to push away.
Miller looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Howe jumps guard and drags Miller to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Miller throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Miller has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Howe to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Miller is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Howe pulls down on the head and he's put Miller to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Fred Howe!
