Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Conor OShea (ranked 20012 p4p, 22901 weight class) and Willie Layer (ranked 575 p4p, 594 weight class). Conor OShea could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Willie Layer's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 39 - 1, fighting out of London, Conor OShea!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Willie Layer!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Paulsen Ambrosius and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
OShea throws a left and a right that both miss

and Layer counters with a series of strikes that sends OShea to the canvas! Layer follows down into guard, looking to finish the fight!
OShea wants to get back to his feet but Layer is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Layer really doesn't want to stay on the ground with OShea. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Layer throws an elbow that misses. OShea uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Layer's guard. Nice move by OShea!

OShea landing some decent shots from guard.
OShea stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Layer swivels though and keeps the full guard.
OShea wants to control from the top but Layer keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
OShea will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Layer wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Layer is working an open guard so OShea takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
OShea dips to his left and cracks Layer with an uppercut!
A head kick by OShea misses

and Layer lands a stunning uppercut that sends OShea to the mat!

OShea is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Layer thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Layer missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Layer is looking to take a break and control but OShea is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Layer throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Layer not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Layer sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. OShea defending well though.
OShea tries to roll over but Layer keeps him under control.
Layer thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed OShea's head.
Layer seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Layer not landing any meaningful shots this time.
OShea is breathing heavily.
OShea pushes Layer off looking to stand but Layer dives back in and keeps control.
We've been hearing good reports from OShea's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Layer looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Layer scores with a big shot! OShea's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save OShea! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Willie Layer!
Willie Layer very nearly forgot to thank Blood remover inc amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
