Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kevin Durant!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Stoned Nelson!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Paulsen Ambrosius and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nelson misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Durant.
Durant looks to land a right hand but Nelson moved out of range.

Nelson shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Durant manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Nelson has gone for a leg lock! Durant slips out almost immediately though and dives into Nelson's guard.

Durant forces his way into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nelson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Durant trying to control the pace.
Nelson wants to improve his position but Durant is controlling well.
The fighters are battling for position here. Nelson manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Nelson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Durant doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Durant manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Nelson wants to sweep but no luck.

Nelson is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Nelson is looking for a triangle but Durant pushes his legs off easily.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Nelson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Durant not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Durant pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Nelson is keeping the position for now.
Durant preventing the sweep.
Nelson wants to improve his position but instead Durant has moved into half guard.
Nelson is looking for a sweep. Durant is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Nelson is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Durant's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Durant's back!
Well, with Nelson on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Durant is tapping out... Can he escape the position?

Nelson looking to finish the fight with a rear naked choke. Durant is controlling Nelson 's left arm and he spins nicely into guard.
Nelson wants to sweep here but Durant controlling him for the moment.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Nelson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Durant sitting in guard here, content to control.
Nelson told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
Nelson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Nelson wants to pass the guard but Durant is defending well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Durant tries to kick Nelson off but Nelson keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Durant won't allow Nelson to pass to mount.

Nelson is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Durant has managed to free his arm - good work.
Nelson tries to pass the half guard into mount. Durant knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Nelson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Nelson is pressing down on Durant's thigh, looking to free his foot. Durant is holding on for now.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Stoned Nelson dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Nelson throws a jab but it's blocked by Durant.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Nelson throws a sloppy body shot
and Nelson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

It looks like Stoned Nelson has been cut.
Durant tries to close the distance and clinch but Nelson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Nelson connects with the punch.
Durant throws a quick head kick that knocks Nelson silly! This fight is all over! What a finish! Durant is up on the cage, taking in the applause from the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Kevin Durant!
Kevin Durant was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
