Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chris Pauschi (ranked 1890 p4p, 4907 weight class) and Peter OBrien (ranked 218 p4p, 497 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Chris Pauschi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 12 - 0, fighting out of London, Peter OBrien!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Paul Aken and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from OBrien.
An attempted straight right counter from Pauschi misses the target.
Pauschi misses with a wild body shot.
Peter OBrien seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

OBrien has closed the distance and engaged Pauschi in a clinch.
Pauschi misses with a short punch on the inside.
OBrien tries to pull guard but Pauschi forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Pauschi lands an elbow just above OBrien 's eye.
Pauschi creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through OBrien's defenses.
Pauschi prevents a takedown attempt there.
Pauschi lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.

It looks like Peter OBrien has been cut.
Pauschi tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Pauschi fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pauschi pushes off an throws an elbow but OBrien leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Pauschi lands an elbow inside.
Pauschi lands a hook that snaps the head of OBrien backwards.
Pauschi throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Pauschi lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Pauschi has a couple of punches blocked by OBrien.

Pauschi misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Pauschi dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.

OBrien jumps guard.
Pauschi controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Pauschi knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for OBrien on the ground.
Pauschi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. OBrien swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Pauschi has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Pauschi is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
OBrien wants to sweep but no luck.
Pauschi is stalling in the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

OBrien wants to sweep here but Pauschi controlling him for the moment.
OBrien looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
OBrien gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Pauschi.
OBrien tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Pauschi defends well and OBrien ends up having to push Pauschi into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Chris Pauschi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Peter OBrien.
Pauschi scores with a decent looking hook.
OBrien is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Pauschi throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
OBrien walks straight into a right hand from Pauschi - that's dropped him! Pauschi jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save OBrien from any more punishment! OBrien complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:06 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Chris Pauschi!
During a confident post fight interview, Chris Pauschi thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
