Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sandy Storm (ranked 5269 p4p, 5802 weight class) and Billy Bishop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Billy Bishop looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sandy Storm!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Billy Bishop!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Anni Minnemäki and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bishop misses with a body shot.
Bishop looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Horrible takedown attempt by Storm or perhaps it was just good defense by Bishop, which made it look bad.
Storm tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bishop swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Storm misses with a double jab.
Bishop takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Storm fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Storm gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Bishop to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Storm is trying to control the position from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bishop throws a big right hand that misses.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Storm is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Storm wants to sweep here but Bishop controlling him for the moment.
Bishop is stalling in the full guard.
Storm is trying to control the position but Bishop postures up.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Storm throws a shot from downtown. Bishop moves away and avoids it.

Bishop shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Bishop stands up and waves to Storm to follow him.

Bishop shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Storm pushes Bishop off and gets back to his feet.

Bishop bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Storm tries to improve position but can't.

Bishop is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Storm knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Bishop has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Bishop with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Bishop is trying to take his opponent's back.

Bishop working the ground and pound effectively.
Bishop pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Bishop goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Storm is on top in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bishop keeping moving, preventing Storm from controlling successfully.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Billy Bishop will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Storm tries to clinch
and Bishop finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Storm tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Bishop defends well and Storm ends up having to push Bishop into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Storm prevents Bishop from breaking the clinch.

Bishop has picked Storm up - he's going for a ride! Bishop dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Bishop looks to land a strike but Storm avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Bishop trying to control but Storm is working from the bottom.
Bishop is breathing heavily.

Bishop throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Storm works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Storm has an active guard here but Bishop has managed to pass into half guard.

Bishop working over Storm with some ground and pound. Storm looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A right-left combo lands from Bishop.

Storm misses with a takedown
enabling Bishop to counter with a crisp jab.
The fight stays on the outside here - Storm looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
A low kick lands for Bishop.
Bishop shoots in and drives through. Storm sprawls well.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Storm enables Bishop to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Storm manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Storm wants to sweep here but Bishop controlling him for the moment.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bishop controlling from the top position.

Bishop decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Bishop fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Storm to the ground. Bishop is now in Storm's guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Storm is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Bishop seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Billy Bishop showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Bishop shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Storm napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Storm manages to work his way to half guard, despite Bishop's best efforts.

Bishop takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Storm wants to control but Bishop is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Billy Bishop has got the better of the ground game so far.
Bishop is just content to waste time from the top position. Storm takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Storm looking for a sweep. Not yet Storm, not yet.

Storm is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Bishop postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Storm might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Bishop works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Storm has hold of Bishop's hands but Bishop slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Storm is trying to maintain the position but Bishop is very close to passing his half guard.

Bishop is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Storm wants to improve his position but Bishop is controlling well.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Bishop is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Bishop lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Bishop gets a double leg takedown into Storm's guard.
Bishop stands and throws Storm's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Bishop stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Storm fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bishop avoids it really well and circles away.

Bishop shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Bishop was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Storm manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Bishop lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Bishop not doing much here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Storm is looking to control Bishop's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Storm avoid being mounted?

And that's the end of the fight!
Billy Bishop comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Bishop has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3 rounds of action, we go to the scorecards for a decision.
