The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zimmerman waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Ryan.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Ryan has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Zimmerman thows a left - swing and a miss!

Zimmerman misses with a hook. Ryan ducked under it nicely.

and Ryan counters with a single leg into guard. Zimmerman didn't expect that.

Ryan creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Zimmerman sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Ryan has hold of Zimmerman's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Zimmerman tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Ryan cranks the arm and Zimmerman screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Zimmerman, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
