Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dave Mellencamp (ranked 5228 p4p, 25060 weight class) and Kaboom Jackson (ranked 475 p4p, 558 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Dave Mellencamp!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kaboom Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Valeri Chadov and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jackson has taken the fight to the clinch.

Jackson gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Mellencamp regains guard.
Jackson not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Jackson slips nicely into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jackson lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Mellencamp misses with the combination.

Jackson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The referee asks Jackson politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Jackson prefers to stall for the moment though.
Jackson is putting a hurting on Mellencamp here, landing some big shots from side control.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Kaboom Jackson dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Jackson looks to land a combination but Mellencamp avoids it well.
Jackson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Jackson forces Mellencamp back against the cage and clinches.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Jackson.
Mellencamp wants to get back to striking at distance but Jackson won't allow it.

Jackson manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Kaboom Jackson has got the better of the ground game so far.
Jackson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Mellencamp manages to get himself to full guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jackson is continuing to stall.

Let's hope that Jackson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Jackson's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Jackson stands up and waves to Mellencamp to follow him.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Jackson jumps into guard, dragging Mellencamp to the mat.

Jackson has his feet on Mellencamp's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Mellencamp blocks a head kick by Jackson.
Jackson fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Jackson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Jackson decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Jackson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mellencamp tries to avoid it but Jackson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mellencamp to the ground. Mellencamp escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Dave Mellencamp is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

and Jackson counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Mellencamp is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Jackson tries for a takedown. No joy.
Dave Mellencamp has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kaboom Jackson.
Jackson drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Mellencamp gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Jackson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Mellencamp throws a jab but it's blocked by Jackson.

Mellencamp tries to keep at a distance but Jackson has taken the fight into the clinch.
Jackson is trying to drag Mellencamp to the mat but Mellencamp just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Jackson manages to break the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jackson throws a head kick that half lands.
Mellencamp throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Kaboom Jackson seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Jackson moves into the clinch.
Jackson lands a shoulder strike.
Jackson has Mellencamp pressed against the cage, preventing Mellencamp from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Jackson has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Mellencamp is trying to keep an underhook but Jackson manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Mellencamp pushes Jackson off but Jackson dives into side control.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Jackson has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Mellencamp is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Jackson yanks on the arm and Mellencamp is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Jackson.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Kaboom Jackson!
