Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Abduwali Hassan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tyres Widforss!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hassan loads up on a big right hand but Widforss slips the punch.
Hassan leaves Widforss with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Widforss lands with a shot to the body.
Widforss checks a leg kick.
Widforss has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Hassan is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Hassan lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Widforss throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hassan throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Widforss sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Widforss looks to land a combination. Hassan sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Widforss scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Hassan throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Widforss sees it coming and avoids it easily.

It looked like Hassan was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Widforss.
Hassan looks to land a left hand but Widforss moved out of range nicely.

Widforss wants to break the clinch but can't.
Widforss jumps guard but Hassan turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Widforss is trying to pull guard but Hassan has him pressed against the cage.
Widforss tries to circle away but Hassan has him pinned against the cage.

Hassan is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Widforss can do to turn this around?

Hassan's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Widforss on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.

Hassan uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Widforss.

Widforss's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Hassan connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Widforss scrambles back to his feet.
Hassan moves out of range as Widforss strikes.

Widforss shoots in for a double leg but Hassan sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Abduwali Hassan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tyres Widforss.
Hassan and Widforss are patiently standing in front of each other looking for an opening. Hassan throws a head kick. It's landed, knocking Widforss into next week! Ooooh that was huge! Hassan knows it - he's on the cage flexing is biceps. That's a bit weird considering he won by kick but whatever.
