Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Daniel Cesar and Matheus Silva.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roddick tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mesquita swivels and escapes.

and Roddick counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Roddick.

Mesquita is pulling down on Roddick's head to control his posture.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mesquita keeping moving, preventing Roddick from controlling successfully.
Roddick stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mesquita swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Mesquita lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Roddick!

Mesquita swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Roddick is now in Mesquita's guard. A big mistake from Mesquita there, giving up the dominant position!
Roddick wants to control from the top but Mesquita keeps moving.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mesquita is breathing heavily.

Roddick tries to stand and escape but Mesquita is controlling the position.
Mesquita could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Roddick lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Roddick passes to side control.
Mesquita tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Roddick wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Mesquita is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Roddick has hold of Mesquita's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Mesquita seems comfortable defending it but Roddick has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Mesquita is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Mesquita is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Roddick couldn't care less - he's delighted!
