Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Koichi Kamei (ranked 1559 p4p, 2256 weight class) and Aramis Knox (ranked 196 p4p, 282 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 34 - 25 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Koichi Kamei!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aramis Knox!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Koichi Kamei seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Knox with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Kamei to score with a decent uppercut.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A cross from Knox lands.
Knox lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Kamei throws a right hand that Knox ducks under and follows up with a left that Knox also avoids with ease.
Knox is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Knox keeps Kamei at a distance using the push kick.
Kamei throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Kamei has Knox up against the cage in a clinch.
Knox digs a right hand into Kamei's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Kamei's gas tank.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Koichi Kamei.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kamei, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
