Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rogerio Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matheus Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Kanye west - Amazing kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Rogerio Rua has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rua lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Silva at a distance.

Rua throws a nice looking combination but Silva bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Silva shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Silva seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rua does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

A close round but Matheus Silva will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Rua lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Silva bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Silva tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Silva has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Rua tries to bench press Silva off him but Silva keeps the position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Rua misses with a double jab.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Matheus Silva showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Rua's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Rua swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

and Silva counters with a shoot takedown. Rua fights it but they end up in guard.
Matheus Silva has got the better of the ground game so far.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Rua is on top in guard.

Rua is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Silva has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Rua is looking to defend but Silva has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Rua! Silva pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Rua taps out and this one is all over!
