Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tater Salad (ranked 4043 p4p, 24388 weight class) and Takashi Minoko (ranked 538 p4p, 667 weight class). Tater Salad has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tater Salad!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Takashi Minoko!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Jeff Smith and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Salad has closed the distance and engaged Minoko in a clinch.
Minoko gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Salad regains guard.
Minoko throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Salad works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Minoko in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Minoko prevents Salad from getting back to his feet.
Minoko wants to control from the top but Salad keeps moving.
Salad is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Minoko is controlling him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Minoko trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Salad is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Salad shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Minoko wants to get back to his feet but Salad passes into half guard.

Salad seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Salad thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Minoko's head.
Salad throwing shots but Minoko is blocking nicely.
Salad not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Salad stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Salad tries to sprawl but Minoko drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Minoko looks to land a strike but Salad avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Minoko throws a strike but Salad rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Salad is looking to work some ground and pound but Minoko has wrist control.
Salad is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Salad with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Minoko is rocked!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Salad loads up on a big left hand. Minoko felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Salad looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Minoko can't hide his disappointment, as Salad celebrates the victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tater Salad!
