PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ford Prefect (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bryan Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Prefect's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Mos Def - "Mathematics". Taylor has chosen Forever- Drake ft. Kanye, Lil Wayne, and Eminem as his entrance music. Prefect has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Ford Prefect has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taylor uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Prefect.
A head kick from Taylor lands but Prefect takes it in his stride.
Prefect circles away from the clinch attempt.
Taylor shoots in looking for a takedown. Prefect tries to sprawl out of it but Taylor keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Prefect manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Taylor shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Prefect's guard.
Prefect is breathing heavily.
Prefect keeping moving, preventing Taylor from controlling successfully.

Taylor gets to his feet. Prefect looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Taylor closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Taylor tries to pass to full mount but Prefect defends it.

Taylor is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Prefect doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Taylor.

Taylor is working for a kimura but Prefect is defending it quite comfortably.

Taylor is looking to take a break and control but Prefect is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Prefect misses with a series of wild punches.
Taylor shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Prefect pinned against the cage. Prefect gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Taylor shoots in and drives through. Prefect sprawls well.
Ford Prefect has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bryan Taylor.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Taylor walks into a stiff left hand from Prefect.
Taylor tries to clinch up but Prefect circles away and keeps his distance.
Prefect swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Taylor tries to close the distance and clinch up but Prefect swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Taylor moves into range and clinches up with Prefect.
Prefect prevents the takedown attempt.
Taylor jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Prefect walks away with a smile on his face. Taylor gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Prefect digs a good hook to Taylor's body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bryan Taylor dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Taylor fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Prefect, pushing him back against the cage.
Prefect fails to pull guard.
Taylor has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Prefect avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Taylor is trying to maintain a safe position but Prefect gets an underhook and turns Taylor into the cage.

Taylor not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Taylor might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Prefect kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Prefect lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Prefect in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Taylor has momentary wrist control but Prefect slips an elbow through the middle.

Ford Prefect is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Taylor shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Taylor tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Prefect misses with an uppercut. Taylor saw that one coming.
Bryan Taylor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Taylor throws a series of strikes that have Prefect backpedaling.
Taylor throws a sloppy head kick and Prefect moves out of range easily.
Prefect lands a glancing blow to the side of Taylor's head.
Taylor shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Prefect but Prefect pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Taylor will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Ford Prefect is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Taylor.
Nice straight punches there by Prefect. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Prefect.
Taylor shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Prefect but Prefect pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Prefect sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Prefect is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Taylor pulls his head out easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Prefect has his feet on Taylor's thighs here. He's pushed Taylor off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Taylor screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
