The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Welker looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Bert is fending him off so far but Welker persists. Nope, Bert circles away and we're back to standing.
Welker shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Bert's guard.
Welker stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bert swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bert reaches up around Welker's neck trying to control. But Welker takes advantage instantly and he's locked on an arm triangle! Big trouble for Bert! Oh that looks nasty! A human being's head is not meant to turn that color! Bert is out! He's gone limp! The ref steps in to break the fighters up and Welker celebrates the victory with the fans!
