Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cuervo Oquendo (ranked 2140 p4p, 2051 weight class) and Bombo Bompaka (ranked 89 p4p, 109 weight class). Cuervo Oquendo could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Bombo Bompaka's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Cuervo Oquendo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bombo Bompaka!
The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Darius Henderson and Ron Honeybunn.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oquendo throws a half hearted mid kick.
Oquendo has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Zombie MMA in the buildup to the fight.
Bompaka misses with a hook. Oquendo ducked under it nicely.
Bompaka misses with a series of wild punches.
Oquendo misses with an uppercut. Bompaka saw that one coming.
Bompaka lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
A lazy left from Oquendo finds it's target.
Oquendo misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Bompaka.
Bompaka replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Oquendo blocks it well.
Bompaka tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Bompaka uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Oquendo.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Oquendo digs a good hook to Bompaka's body.
Bompaka blocks a jab.
Bompaka works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Oquendo loads up on a big right hand but Bompaka slips the punch.
Bompaka looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Oquendo fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Bompaka misses with the combination.
Oquendo lands a right hook to the body.
Bompaka has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Bompaka is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Oquendo.
A low kick lands for Oquendo.
Bompaka walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Oquendo dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Bompaka. That did some damage!
Bompaka looks to land a right hand but Oquendo moved out of range.
Bompaka steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Oquendo.
Bompaka looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Oquendo throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Bompaka stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Oquendo takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Oquendo tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Bompaka looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Bompaka takes a swing at Oquendo's ribcage but misses.
Oquendo with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Bompaka moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Oquendo uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Bompaka.

Oquendo lands a left and a right that send Bompaka crashing to the mat, dazed. Oquendo thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Bompaka is rocked!

It looks like Bombo Bompaka has been cut.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Oquendo. Bompaka shrugs it off though.
A decent looking cross lands there for Oquendo.
Bompaka is still on wobbly legs! Can Oquendo finish him?
Oquendo darts in and lands a big hook, right on the button! Bompaka's legs crumble underneath him as he falls to the canvas! The ref tackles Oquendo before he gets to land any more shots to his stricken foe.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Cuervo Oquendo!
In his post fight interview, Cuervo Oquendo started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
