Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 29 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, KT Failure!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Conrad Cartwright!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Paul Gruel and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cartwright misses with a wild combination.
And Failure counters with a quick kick to the body but Cartwright blocks it.
Cartwright thumps Failure with a low kick.
Cartwright's coach down at Cobra Kai Workout Center was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Cartwright's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Cartwright misses with a left hand
and Failure counters with a nice uppercut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Failure doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Cartwright throws a body kick that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Cartwright swings widly with a right hand
and Failure counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Cartwright fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Failure manages to avoid it.
Failure appears to be looking for a big counter.
Cartwright misses with a left hand
and Failure counters with a crisp one two that drops Cartwright! Failure thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Cartwright to his feet! Cartwright is in big trouble!
Cartwright misses with an uppercut.
Failure has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Tycoon Coaching & Sparring in the buildup to the fight.
Cartwright lands a jab to Failure's midsection.
Cartwright misses with a looping right.
Failure went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cartwright thuds his right hand into Failure's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Cartwright throws an overhand right that lands on Failure's shoulder, as Failure tries to avoid the shot.
Failure slips under a jab from Cartwright.
A jab from Cartwright misses.
Cartwright lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
It looks like KT Failure has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cartwright feints a jab promting Failure to slip. Cartwright then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Failure slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Cartwright throws a looping overhand right but Failure ducks down to avoid it.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Failure steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Cartwright.
Cartwright moves into range and connects with a jab.
Cartwright lands a head shot.
Cartwright cracks Failure with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Failure tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Cartwright pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Failure is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Conrad Cartwright!
A relieved looking Conrad Cartwright thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
