Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ele Meno (ranked 2594 p4p, 1574 weight class) and Kangaroo Jack (ranked 220 p4p, 145 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ele Meno!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kangaroo Jack!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Elvis Blanc and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jack throws an overhand right that lands on Meno's shoulder, as Meno tries to avoid the shot.
Meno throwing a counter right hand but Jack manages to avoid it.
Meno misses the jab.
A little jabbing left from Jack on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Meno uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Jack has time to react.
Meno misses the jab.
Jack feints a counter leg kick.
Meno takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Meno is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Jack.
Jack misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Meno is looking to counter the offense by Jack and move into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ele Meno seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Meno lands with an uppercut that bounces Jack off the cage and back into range.
Jack slips a jab and a cross from Meno.
And Jack responds with a good body kick, but Meno manages to step out the way in time.
Meno takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Jack scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Jack tries to land a leg kick but Meno saw it coming and moves away.
Jack moves into range and connects with a jab.

and Jack counters with a stiff right hand.
Meno uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Jack.

and Jack cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Meno lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Jack moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Jack finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Meno rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Jack counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Jack lands a nice looking kick to the body. Meno takes a step back to recover.

Jack throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

Meno clinches up against the cage.

Jack pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Jack throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Meno is looking to counter punch.
Jack looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Jack tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Meno was well out of range. Poor timing from Jack.
Jack pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Meno back to the cage. Jack follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
A swing and a miss from Meno.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Meno ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jack moves away.

Meno is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Meno connects with a nice looking jab.

Jack fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Meno.

and Jack cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Meno throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Jack lands a nice hook to Meno's body. Meno takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Jack has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kangaroo Jack showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Meno has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kangaroo Jack is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
