Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Roderic Teixera (ranked 4235 p4p, 4377 weight class) and Michael Ferguson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Colin Fray and Micheangelo Fripello.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ferguson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Ferguson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Ferguson is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Teixera has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Teixera has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Ferguson avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Ferguson drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Teixera manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Ferguson has Teixera in his guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Well Ferguson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
