The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lehto darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

It looks like Anthony Wayne has been cut.
Lehto looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Wayne tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Lehto was well out of range. Poor timing from Wayne.
Lehto feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Lehto shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Wayne eats them both and turns towards Lehto to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Wayne misses with a kick to the body.
Wayne throws a hook but Lehto blocks it.
Wayne misses with a straight right.
And Lehto counters with a quick kick to the body but Wayne blocks it.
Wayne swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Lehto throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Lehto displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Wayne throws out the jab.
A quick step to the side and Lehto tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

Wayne takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Lehto has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Lehto drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

and Lehto counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Lehto.
Lehto struggles to land a body shot inside as Wayne controls his hands.

Lehto throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Wayne blocks it with crossed arms.
Wayne looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Wayne is trying to push Lehto away but Lehto has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Wayne escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Wayne has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Lehto has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Wayne finds it's way round the side to connect with Lehto's head.

Wayne misses with a looping left.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Wayne misses with a kick to the body.
Anthony Wayne seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wayne is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Lehto.
It looked like Lehto was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Wayne misses with a hook. Lehto ducked under it nicely.
Wayne misses the shot to the body.
Lehto throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Wayne's head.

That has opened up Anthony Wayne's cut even more.

Lehto is looking to counter the offense by Wayne and move into the clinch.
Wayne throws a lazy uppercut
and Lehto counters with a slapping leg kick.
Wayne is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Lehto had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.

Wayne throws an overhand right that lands on Lehto's shoulder, as Lehto tries to avoid the shot.
Lehto doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

and Lehto counters with a one-two to the body.

Anthony Wayne's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Anthony Wayne's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Charon Lehto decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
Anthony Wayne was interviewed post fight and said 'We will go back and watch some film and determine what we need to do to get better for the next time. Hail American Revolutionaries!'.
