Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Luke McKendrick!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Santiago Huerta!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Gregory Folan and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McKendrick displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Huerta.

Huerta looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for McKendrick!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McKendrick regains half guard.
Huerta tries to pass to full mount but McKendrick defends it.
Huerta looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks McKendrick with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
McKendrick gets back to full guard.
McKendrick is trying to keep Huerta in close.
Huerta must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
McKendrick manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Huerta is wriggling around trying to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McKendrick looking to finish with strikes here!

McKendrick controlling from mount.
McKendrick's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

McKendrick working for a guillotine from mount but Huerta is in no mood to give up.
McKendrick sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
McKendrick controlling from the full mount.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Huerta tries to lock up and control but McKendrick gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

McKendrick looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Huerta really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McKendrick. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Huerta is looking to improve his position but McKendrick isn't that keen on the idea.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Huerta slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

Huerta is looking to escape.
Huerta tries to roll over but McKendrick keeps him under control.

McKendrick is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Huerta is just riding it out for now. McKendrick eventually gives up the hold.

McKendrick looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

McKendrick lands strikes from half guard.

Huerta actively working from the bottom here.
Huerta throws a sloppy strike from the bottom. He's now off balance and McKendrick manages to pass to side control.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
McKendrick landing a few strikes.
McKendrick tries to advance to mount but Huerta denies him.
McKendrick is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Huerta tries to get back to half guard but can't.

McKendrick in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Huerta is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
