Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Satoshi Ekaku (ranked 321 p4p, 440 weight class) and Ishmael Egyptian (ranked 33 p4p, 40 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Satoshi Ekaku!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Ishmael Egyptian!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ekaku misses with a leg kick

and Egyptian counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Ekaku!

Egyptian wants to control for a moment but Ekaku uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
Ekaku is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Egyptian jumps into side control!
Egyptian is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Ekaku will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Ekaku's coaches at Tosen's Home for Lost Boys have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Ekaku is trying to escape the position but Egyptian is controlling the position.

Egyptian lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Ekaku down.

Let's hope that Egyptian has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
It looks like Egyptian might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Egyptian tries to break free but Ekaku pushes him back against the cage.

Egyptian changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Ekaku fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Ekaku lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Egyptian changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Ekaku dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Egyptian. That did some damage!
Egyptian uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Ekaku.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Egyptian feints the counter takedown.
Ekaku throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Egyptian sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Egyptian drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Ekaku defends it well.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Ekaku.
Ekaku goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Egyptian tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ekaku paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Ishmael Egyptian is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
