Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jamal Hudak (ranked 1983 p4p, 2696 weight class) and Cody Evans (ranked 171 p4p, 229 weight class). Cody Evans has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jamal Hudak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cody Evans!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Chris Saunders and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Evans connects with a nice looking jab.
Hudak throws a hook but Evans blocks it.
A little jabbing left from Evans on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Hudak uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Evans.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Evans has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Evans misses the shot to the body.
Evans misses with a hook. Hudak ducked under it nicely.
Hudak sizes up Evans with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Hudak tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Evans swivels and escapes.

Evans got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hudak has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Evans has managed to get both his arms back between Hudak's legs - danger averted.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hudak escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Evans gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Hudak changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Evans tries to avoid it but Hudak manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Evans to the ground. Evans escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Hudak is trying to drag Evans to the mat but Evans just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Evans has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Hudak regains guard immediately.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Hudak drops back, looking for a kneebar! Evans looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Evans looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Evans!

Cody Evans showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

No luck for Hudak with that takedown attempt.

Evans closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Evans looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hudak with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Well Evans has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
